Assalamu alaykum!
My name is Ameera, a twenty-something Muslim girl who was born and raised in Saudi Arabia, and currently living in Karachi, Pakistan. I’ve just graduated from medical college as a doctor, Alhumdulillah, and the journey on that angle’s just beginning. I’ve been blogging since 2005 on my personal blog and, for a year now, I’ve also been writing off and on for MuslimMatters.org, a leading Muslim website based in the US.
I come from a large, moderate, traditional family background and can’t be thankful enough for being blessed in that and so many other ways. Having family in India gave me a chance to visit there several times as a child and I also had the wonderful opportunity to travel to Jordan and Syria while living in Saudi Arabia. Getting to travel and meet with different kinds of people is something I cherish as a great learning experience for life and hope to do more of it in the future, Insha’Allah.
While I am a doctor, my interests go much beyond medicine…
Islam | religion | current affairs | food | books | cooking | medicine | photography | writing | relationships | parenting | kids | travel | jewelery | outdoors | music-free nasheeds | Hijab

This new template is very decent and clean, thumbs up!
JazaakAllah!
It was long-due and I feel better having done it.
Dear Ameera, I came across your Failed Plans writing, and it really blessed me,,, esp. “do we pause to wonder if maybe, just maybe, that failure was actually a great blessing in disguise?” I also enjoyed your writing about smiling while hurting inside..You are sure a beautiful soul, with a deep heart. God bless,,,,Ereena

I just visited today to check out if you posted anything new. And noticed you too have been experimenting with TypeKit! I tried doing the same today and realized that you need to do some extra work in order for it to work : http://pages.citebite.com/m2w2a2j5ocnj . As the author notes, for a lot of the fonts the font size is just too small. There isn’t an elegant solution to this besides customizing one’s own CSS (requires a paid upgrade) .
I gave up on TypeKit, because the fonts I liked appeared too small. Sticking to the default font for now, which isn’t so bad
.
I had the same issues with TypeKit so I guess I’ll be staying with the regular font too!
Can I follow you in twitter sis?

I’m making a short video message about One World/One People and would like to use the illustration you included in a piece you wrote a few years ago: “One God, One World, One Dream,” Aug. 8, 2008. It’s the image of the many hands holding up the globe. Do you know if it is a copyrighted image or in the public domain? If you can, please respond to my personal email.
Many thanks, and I’m glad I stumbled on your blog–heartening to find an affirming voice!
